Quick Holmesian Question

Does anyone know if any of those Holmesian Scholars over the years have ever put forth a theory on where Holmes might have grown-up? My own Sherlock headcanon is that there's probably a fairly posh Holmes family house in the country somewhere where Mummy Holmes resides, but I don't know where to put it and I'm not familliar enough with England to make an educated guess. Any thoughts?
