I'd class it as a zoological error, actually, since I am an American, and use tortoise for "lives mainly on land" and turtle for "lives mostly in the water". Different feet, diets, etc.

Either way, the story was hilarious. I love Lestrade and John exchanging views on Sherlock's alien powers.
