awanderingbard: (SHERLOCK: Watson giggle)

Yeah... I dunno

I feel like there needs to be a crack Sherlock/The Great Mouse Detective crossover fic where modern!Basil is incensed that people believe Sherlock is a fake and he and Dawson decide to prove his innocence and leave little hints for John to find.

...this is why it was a mistake giving me an imagination. I don't do anything useful with it.

I imagine even my tiny video store has it, I might go out and rent it. And I think I have a post liked on Tumblr that can help me out if that doesn't work.

Thanks though!

I recently reblogged a link so you probably do have it. :)

Now the very important questions: is Dawson 'David' in this modern version, if Watson is John? And do the mice have access to a mouse version of the internet?

I would think there would be a mousernet or something for them to use. Hmmmm about David vs Dawson though. I forgot that was his first name, but I suppose it would be used.

I'm having a very hard time not inserting 'mouse' into every other word. :P Basil doesn't seem to have any other name in canon, so I guess it's his first name. I don't know if I like David, though. I'll have to think about it...

...I feel really weird contemplating these things.

I think going with Basil and Dawson is fine, even in BBC's version Lestrade was still Lestrade.

Yeah. And maybe mice have different cultural norms or Dawson just prefers his last name from his army years. It's going to be confusing enough already without me switching up names.

So far I'm just having fun translating everything into mouse. I've decided Basil will have a Holeless Network. And that the mouse hospital under Barts will be St. Gertrude's. She's the patron saint against fear of mice. She's apparently usually depicted with mice crawling all over her.

Oh, that really sounds GOOD! I like the world you're building there.
