Storm Warning

Attention: Sherlock has failed to win the National Television Award. Tumblr is not a safe place at the moment. We suggest you stay indoors and hide until the fan girl rage has died down. Stay safe, people!

On the bright side, Benedict's loss seems to have been counteracted by Colin Morgan's win. Way to be reasonable, fan girls! There's hope for the survival of civilization yet! And congrats, Colin! Good lord, you are Irish!

*hee* Yeah, my tumblr kind of exploded and half is flailing in happiness and the other half all pouty and disbelieving. I watched a clip of his acceptance speech, Colin's accent was rather strong, although I thought it was in poor taste for the emcee to comment on it.

Same. Half of it is gifs of Colin and Bradley being happy and the other half is gifs of Martin and Bradley being grumpy. I enjoy Downton Abbey quite a bit, so I wasn't upset at all to see them win. Merlin and Doctor Who are somewhat niche shows, and Sherlock has rabid fans, but I don't know how large the population of them is. They're sort of small but incredibly noisy. Downton Abbey has a much more mainstream fanbase, I would imagine.

I think it's fairly par for the course to make fun of the Irish, Welsh and Scottish in England, but I agree that it's a bit rude after what was clearly a very exciting moment for him.
