Sorry. Once a beta, always a beta.

Do not apologize! I am always grateful. You are right on both counts, but my spellchecker did not flag optunded. Huh. I thought it was 'uptunded' from having heard it from my mum until I Googled it, so I think I combined the two. I shall correct! Thank you, o wise Beta!

I love them to bits! And Abby seems so real—not too precious, not too precocious, but lovable and yet horribly difficult at times, like an actual baby.

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it and her and everyone. I do try my best to keep kids kids. I like writing them because they are kids, not because they are acting like grown-ups, if you know what I mean. The appeal for me is that they are what they are, and I like seeing what my characters do when they have to deal with them.

I do hope Sherlock didn't give Abby much liquor.

No, no. I sort of imagine John stopped him before he succeeded, and he just never cleaned up the mess. Or he just gave her a sip of something heavily mixed with water.

Kids are legally allowed to drink in private at age five in England, and they are legally allowed to drink at any age if under medical supervision or if it's an emergency. Sherlock would probably argue for both cases being valid. :-D
