Hurt/Comfort Meme

Because we all love torturing our characters, right?

Leave me a comment with a fandom, characters or pairing (platonic or un), and number from the list below. I will write you a short fic, excerpt of fic or description of fic.

The prompts are a bit vague, so feel free to be more specific about what sort of horridness has occurred, or severity of horridness, or which character you prefer the horridness to have happened to, or any other thing you want to add. I usually shy away from angst as much as possible, but, due to the nature of some of the prompts, there may be angst there. I will do my best to end on a happy, or at least hopeful, note.

All fandoms I've written for before are open. Feel free to request OCs or crossovers if you wish.

1. Injury
2. Illness
3. Grief
4. Loss of Sense (sight, hearing, etc.)
5. Sleep disturbance
6. Guilt
7. Exhaustion

AAAAH, OMG OMG THIS IS SO GOOD. I’m seriously, like, shaking because it’s so good that I feel like I’m going into shock like Sherlock. The medical language is fantastic! When John was trying to get everything in and then had that little moment and then went “I’m a doctor,” I totally squeed. Of course you are, John.

Lots of blood in a story = always a good thing. :) (I feel so bad for wanting Sherlock to be tortured; I really do feel awful. But I love him so much that I can’t help it...I’m so glad hurt/comfort is a thing.)

The premise is sooo sweet, Sherlock getting tickets for Mrs. Hudson for Mothering Sunday, awww.

And Mycroft! Thanks so much for writing such a brilliant Mycroft here.

Now they were arguing about whether or not Mycroft had come on purpose to try to spy on Sherlock, or whether it had been a coincidence.

Yesss, Sherlock’s paranoia about Mycroft’s influence over his life comes to the front. Of course, I’m convinced Mycroft saw that Sherlock was going and wanted to have a little family time together doing something they both enjoy, even if they’re across the theater from one another. It’s their way of bonding. And “furiously texting,” ahaha. God, I’m such a sucker for those two. <3

He seemed to think the same thing, as he immediately tried to get up, his legs going out from under him halfway.

Ohhhh, God, you know how to pull at the heartstrings. Brilliant line. And it’s really adorable and moving how Sherlock is shot and then warns John to get down and protect himself (good advice, as it turns out!). That shows how much he cares for John right there.

“I'm not... cold,” Sherlock said, through chattering teeth.

Oh, Sherlock. <3

What I love best is how understated John and Mycroft’s worry is—you are such a master at showing instead of telling, seriously. John not being able to move his hand to stop applying pressure, Mycroft keeping Sherlock talking in such a completely calm way even though he must be going out of his mind with worry for his brother—all of that shines through so strongly. Plus, looking at this from Sherlock’s perspective for a bit, Sherlock grabbing John’s wrist and allowing Mycroft to ruffle his hair (!!! my favorite moment, right there) shows his shock and anxiety so well, omg. MY HEART!

This is totally the best thing ever. Thank you a million times for writing such a fantastic story in such a short amount of time!!!

EDIT: Oh, and please if you have time and would like to, could you please post this to your AO3 account so I can share the love/have a copy for my kindle? It's an incredible story. :)

My goodness! What a very lovely comment! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. I did have a lot more written, but the more I wrote, the more I realized I'd already told the story. I'm glad it worked for you. I really, really loved the prompt, as I love writing doctors being doctors, and emergency medical procedures.

I'll upload it for you right now, if you'd like. I have plenty of time at the moment. I'll mark it as a gift to you, so you can find it easily.

Thanks for being so enthusiastic! :-D
