Yes, this Q definitely has a more dangerous feel to him, in terms of what he could accomplish if he tried. There's a reason to worry he might be kidnapped or attacked. Which fits in well to the Sherlock 'verse, in terms of Mycroft fussing about him. And even Sherlock, to some extent, because woe be to the person who tries to kill his little brother. There would not be enough windows to fall out of in all of London.
