*happy sigh* The utter calm with which both Q but especially Mycroft and Mummy take this news is wonderful.

You totally nailed the conversation between Mycroft and Q. I see how it’s difficult because they’re so solitary and self-sufficient, whereas if Sherlock were there he’d be pestering them both, but it’s great that Mycroft got to help Q in his time of need. I especially love how Mycroft was shocked that Q was in his thirties, whereas in Mycroft’s mind he hasn’t aged at all.

He knew he should be pleased that they were capable of getting on without him, but he just felt annoyed that they were capable of getting on without him.

I think this is also how Mycroft would feel...except perhaps the British Government really can’t function without him.

Sherlock was a touch point— when all other conversation failed, one could always bond over the fact that they were both his brother.

Awwww, I find this so sweet.

“I suppose that means I'm still the sidekick,” Q said.

“And I'm still the villain,” Mycroft said, with a smile.
