I love Sherlock and Abby. She just won't be discouraged! And she tries to teach him manners! He could learn a thing or two from her.
I have this theory that if you grow up with someone assuring you that Sherlock, 99% of the time, doesn't mean what he's saying, that you would sort of accept him as he is, and not take any of his comments really to heart. Also, Abby has so many people adoring her and is the only child around that I think she has trouble believing that anyone.wouldn't be delighted to have her around. At least for now; John and Sarah will make sure she learns when it is appropriate to be persistent and when it is time to leave Uncle Sherlock alone.
It's good to see them all together and happy. They're never happy for very long on tv, for obvious reasons.
I think, basically, my existence as a fanfic write is solely to give characters chances to be happy.
