The last time John had come, he'd found him practising calligraphy for place cards.

This is my new headcanon. So appropriate. :)

“Yes,” Sherlock said. “He was very...good to me. He didn't try to--he was good. He was a good professor.”

Thissss, so moving. I had to take a little break after this because it ws such an unexpectedly moving thing for Sherlock to say. I’m with John in feeling bad for Sherlock after this.

“...He gets really weird when he has emotions.”
“I know, I've met him,” Mary said, with a quirk of her lips.

Awww, Mary. I love her so much. *pets her* Also “he gets really weird when he has emotions” is very accurate.

And Mycroft folded me a boat out of the order of service...

What an unexpectedly touching detail. I’m glad Sherlock didn’t delete any of that stuff.

And Sherlock’s response to talking to the family and everything was perfect. I’m so pleased that you set this in the new canon and how lovely your characterization of Sherlock, John, and Mary was. Sherlock’s anxiety over the wedding being perfect is perhaps my favorite thing ever. Really enjoyed this. :)
