Only Sherlock Holmes could walk around with an envelope in his pocket for three weeks and not do anything about it. I hate to say this, but he really isn't. That's the sort of thing my husband or I might do—except that it's more likely to stay on a table for three weeks than end up in a pocket! I suppose Alec is a very responsible human being and doesn't know about this sort of problem.

I like that you showed some of the steps in Sherlock's deduction; I feel cheated on the show when they have him spout something with no explanation. (Yes, ACD did that too, but I feel cheated by him sometimes as well.)
