I’m pleased to see Alec starting to stand up to Sherlock just a bit more (explaining things in his teacher voice, haha). It’s really cute!

I feel like Alec views Sherlock like a student he can't quite connect with, and would like to somehow 'help' him. He hasn't yet resigned himself to the fact that Sherlock is just Sherlock. But I actually get a real kick out of the two of them interacting, because there is no understanding on either side. Sherlock is just as baffled by Alec as Alec is by Sherlock.
