I doubt Mycroft ever got lost on the beach or went somewhere he wasn’t supposed to.

I feel like Mycroft is the sort of child who might do that, but would return with a list of reasons why it was logical that he needed to do it, apologize, and send himself to his room for it. Leaving Dora and Siger at a loss of what to do about it.
