it is not an easy language for an English speaker, but I do find it interesting.
I’m a huge language nerd, I love learning languages, etymology, translations, Shakespeare, conlangs, all of that stuff. There’s a channel on YouTube called ecolinguist and he puts people who speak languages in similar language groups together to see if they can understand each other, and it surprises me how often I can follow along with any of the Romance languages because of my French background, or the Germanic languages because of English and German, but I have very little experience with Asian languages. My only previous exposure to Chinese is through Firefly, lol.
There's so much that's culturally different, like when the ride horses the 'lets go' and 'stop' noises people make is not what I'd expected after seeing Old West set things, they use entirely different words/sounds.
