That Italian show had a particularly atrocious translator who popped up every few episodes. I could always tell it was them who was doing it by how awkward the subtitles suddenly became. One character called his daughter his sister and there was one episode where the characters kept saying ‘turkeys!’ for no discernible reason until I realized they were only doing it when a certain character entered the room and the translator had translated his surname literally into English, so instead of saying ‘Galli’, they said ‘turkeys’. And upon further research, I found out Galli doesn’t even translate to turkeys, it means roosters. 🤷🏻‍♀️
