Scotties are at a higher risk for oral cancer, so that was definitely a concern of ours. I thought it was an abscessed tooth to begin with, so going in and having the vet be baffled by it was unexpected. We didn't think it was anything too bad, though, because Pax wasn't behaving any differently and it wasn't growing aggressively or bleeding or anything. So, again the call about the liver enzymes threw us for a loop. I'm sorry about Doofus; in all the obsessive research I did trying to figure out what might be up with Pax, I learned that oral cancer is very nasty in pets. I'm sure it's an awful thing to go through.

I can imagine hurricane anxiety! I don't think I'd like to dodge them every year. I've always been grateful that where I live the worst weather we ever get is a monster blizzard or ice storm, which usually is not a life threatening situation. We sit in a pretty sweet spot here by a lake that tends to mitigate the worst of major weather events. You've been through the wringer down there this year, I'm sure you're happy the greatest risk is past.
