I know. I fell in love with Firefly, Dresden Files, and New Amsterdam, and NONE of them got out of their first year. So, you would think I would be used to this sort of thing by now. Alas, this is an even harder blow as I've spent longer with these characters than any of the others from the other shows. I think that people watched SGA beccause they liked SGA all by itself. I know I did. I wish they'd have both SGA and SGU on at the same time tho. After all, they did it for THREE YEARS with SG1 & SGA. What's to say that kind of thing can't work again?
