Sherlock: Banned Substances
Title: Banned Substances
Characters: Lestrade, Sherlock
Rating: G
Spoilers: None, set pre-series
Pairings: None
Word count: 221
Summary: Sherlock discovers energy drinks.
Author's notes: My first 221b (221 words, the last one start with b). I thought I'd give it a go. Various word counters gave me different word counts for this, so in the end I'm putting my trust in Open Office.
This is a little bit crack. It's set an unspecified time before A Study in Pink.
“Hello Inspector! I knew you were coming, I could hear your footsteps and I heard about the murder, so I knew you would come to get me. I’ve already solved it. Well, I think I have, I’ll have to see the scene to make my final conclusions. I’ve been waiting for three hours and twenty-seven minutes, what took you so long?”
Lestrade stared at Sherlock, who had said all this in one breath after throwing open the door before he’d even knocked. “How many of those have you had, Sherlock?” he asked, nodding to the can in the detective’s hand.
“Three. Four. They are fantastic. I don’t need to eat or sleep, I just can keep going and it makes everything so clear and my brain is just on fire!” Sherlock proclaimed, with manic glee. “I have developed a slight twitch in my right pinkie and I seem to be talking faster than usual, am I talking faster than usual? And also I can taste science, but I don’t think that’s anything to worry about, as it is also fantastic!”
“Right,” Lestrade said. He turned to Sally, who was watching the proceedings with a gaping expression. “Sergeant, gather a couple of constables. When you return, enter Mr. Holmes’ flat and remove all the Red Bull.”

Ta da! I can't resist an icon challenge. The first one is thematically appropriate, but I think the second is what Sherlock would actually look like on Red Bull.

Genius - the icons and the story!
