- has danced since she was three years old
- has just been accepted into the New York City Ballet company
- is trying to deal with the politics
- by the end of the story, will have a featured solo
- if she doesn't have a nervous breakdown first

- was born in the last days of The Great Plague that wiped out most of humanity
- his sister, seven years older than him, got him to the Survivor's Commune and essentially raised him
- is destined to rise up and overthrow the New Regime. With a katana, because katanas are cool.
- Would really just prefer to stay on the Commune and play hockey

Because he sounded like a post-apocalyptic survivor to me.
