Congratulations on being perfect, sir...

Just when you thought Tom Hiddleston couldn't get more geeky or lovely:

I randomly found out that Benedict has an older half-sister.

Wait, what? I immediately googled this after reading about it here. I'm not sure why I'm so surprised. It was like I was so dead certain BC was an only child that my reality decided it was impossible that he have a half sibling. Weird. Anyway, yes, now the 3rd Holmes brother being largely unknown seems less bizarre.

It's all I've ever wanted from a Sherlock episode and so much more. It's all my fanfiction come to life!

This was one of the rare times where fanfic come to life ended in wonderful things rather than embarrassing things.

Oh, I'm sorry that you feel sad!

I think I'm just stressed out about school-related things and it's paralyzed me from doing anything which in turn only ups my anxiety. Vicious cycles...

Thanks for all the items in your happy folder! I shall stare at these and perhaps watch some more clips from "Was it Something I Said?" I'd like to believe Richard Ayoade is my spirit animal but I probably only take in his social uneasiness and mash it with Jack Dee's cynicism.

Yep, this was my exact reaction. Also, I only just recently learned that Wanda Ventham had been married before, so I hadn't yet considered she might have had children from that relationship.

I also only recently learned that Tom Hiddleston's dad is proper Scottish, too. I feel like a bad fangirl.

I understand this. It's not how I react to stress, but Ama gets really paralyzed when school gets tough for her, so I know how sort of stuck you can get. I highly recommend doing happy things and being kind to yourself. Epecially since its almost your birthday! Abby Watson's too, actually. Next year, when she'll be born, according to my not-at-all obsessive timeline.

I think I'm combination of Jon Richardson's OCD and general distain for modernity with a generous helping of Adam's optimism and love of the weirdness of humanity.

What, really? Jeez, you think you know a person...

Thanks for the e-gift for my birthday! And thanks for the suggestions to be in a fluffier state of mind. Now that I've done a meme (always a nice relaxer) and stared at some pics of otters, I'm better.

That should have been 'Adam Hills's', btw. Too late to edit...

He does a really dead on accent in the Nerdist Podcast he did, and mentions that his dad is Scottish, and his Granddad is so Scottish he couldn't really understand him when he rang on the phone. It amused me because Alec's dad was Scottish for a bit in my head, before he wasn't anymore.

It should have been sent tomorrow, but LJ works from a different timezone and thought it was tomorrow already.

Oooh, meme! I did Cumberbatch for that one awhile ago, but never posted it I don't think. And otters make everything better. Especially ones who come to tea.

I don't think you ever posted it. But coincidentally, I did him this go around.

his Granddad is so Scottish he couldn't really understand him when he rang on the phone.

Heehee! I imagine TH apologized multiple times during the phone call for not being able to understand.

I seem to remember thinking at the time 'no, I can't post about Benedict again, it's getting creepy'. As you can see, I have no such qualms about Tom. :p

They start talking about it around 16:30 here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sZ4R_H_QtqM).

This does not surprise me at all but TH is so damn articulate. It's extra impressive to me because he's articulate without sounding pretentious. He's so affable and his economy of words is just about perfect.

I was going to do Hiddleston this go around but I realized I haven't seen that much of his work.

I literally put him on in the background because I love to hear him talk. He's so well-spoken, and so joyful, and so geeky and passionate, I just feel better when I'm done. Even when people try to start on a negative topic with him, he turns it right around. He's so at ease with himself, and ironically unapologetic about it. His Nerd HQ is really great, and he's done a lot of long interviews where he really gets a chance to be thorough in his answers. /embarrassing gush

I was just thinking on doing this meme for him and trying to remember what I've seen him in. Thor and the Avengers, Midnight in Paris, Deep Blue Sea, Cranford, Miss Austen Regrets, one episode of Wallander, and The Pirate Fairy. But his body of work isn't as extensive as Benedict's; he's a bit younger and seemed to stay on the stage for longer before he went into films and stuff.

I remember when I first heard him being interviewed after Thor first opened and I was pleasantly surprised by how well-spoken he was and lacked any affectation which is so rare. When I saw he went to Cambridge and got a double first, I was not at all surprised. In fact, the world made more sense.

Yeah, unaffected is totally it. If he's not genuine, he's fucking good at faking it. Mr and Mrs Hiddleston raised a very nice boy.

Randomly, listening to him talk about his passions and what he used to do as a kid, with using different voices and recording his own radio show and stuff, made me realize I wasn't and am not as weird as I thought I was. I've been noticing that lately when I listen to interviews with writers and actors. All my life I've thought I was completely alone in my weirdness, and it turns out that I was just isolated in it. It's been quite comforting to find out that being geeky about Shakespeare and history, and really liking foreign languages, and singing and dancing all the time, aren't as weird as I thought. Or at least stand me in good company.

If he's faking on this level then he'd have to be a sociopath because that would be some scary-levels of convincing.

All my life I've thought I was completely alone in my weirdness, and it turns out that I was just isolated in it.

As much as people might bitch about the Internet, I do think creating a sense of connectedness is something the Internet has helped where you realize there are others out there with your sensibilities. Like writing fanfic for instance. I thought I was the only soul who did this when I was younger and then realized fanfic made up 50% of the Internet.

Yep. Turns out that making up roles in movies for yourself to play is actually an established art form. Who knew?
