Nifty Meme

Lifted from [livejournal.com profile] _medley_

Name any story I've written, and any character in them, canon or OC. I'll tell you three things about that character which I didn't put in the story.

ETA: Feel free to ask for more than one character.

Dylan in "Child's Play."

[identity profile] awanderingbard.livejournal.com 2007-11-06 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
1) Dylan writes for the local newspaper in Sheffield. He'd like to do more investigative reporting but he usually ends up stuck with the paranormal/spiritual articles. So far, he has broken 3 photocopiers, two laptops and a coffee machine at the office.
2) He didn't tell Katrina about the magic stuff until after she agreed to marry him. Turns out, she'd already figured it out on her own.
3) The shield knot pendant Graylin wears is from a keychain Dylan brought back from a trip to Ireland for Tamsin. She turned it into a ward for Graylin. Also, all three Cartwright children have similar foci given to them as gifts - Tamsin had a pentacle flower necklace, Jordanna has a simple triquetra and Dylan has a ring of pentacles that he wears on his thumb.

This made me chuckle and slap my keyboard a little in glee.

I had this image in my head of him, like a comic strip. Panel one would be him trying desperately to use a computer, hoping that for once it will work and inevitably losing his story halfway through typing it. Then panel two would be him going back to the trusty typewriter in the corner, cursing away. :-)

Anyone else you'd like to know about?

Jade
- The first year they were dating, Jade went to Jake's family's house for Hanukkah and Jake went to her family's house for Christmas. Jake's mother didn't like Jade and Jade's parents didn't like Jake and a miserable time was had by all. The next year, they didn't go anywhere for the holidays and had a lovely time.

- Even though she couldn't hear him, Jade's pretty sure she could feel something beside her at the morgue that made her feel very warm inside, like when Jake hugs her.

- Jake had to make most of the first moves, but Jade kissed him first. Once she decided to do it, she had a total panic attack about it for about 30 seconds before she actually kissed him. After that, everything was fine.

Aw, the second one made me a bit sad and yet still smile.

The third one just made me grin.

::Pounces:: Somnus, Ramirez, please.

1) Spent most of the time in the endless Council meetings coming up with his own subtitles for the Latin being spoken, trying to get Amber to laugh using said subtitles and folding 23 and a half origami cranes using sheets of paper from the Warden's Handbook.
2) Made Morgan laugh once. Unfortunately, there were no witnesses.
3) Volunteered to come with Amber as the reinforcements. He wanted to meet the infamous Harry Dresden.

Oh, I can just imagine his subtitles! And for some reason I especially love the poor 1/2 crane. *g* Hee! #2! Nobody believes him! ANd I can totally see #3.

That's how I survived the most boring math class in history - origami. Graph paper works really well for origami lilies, btw.

This is, like, the one time that my obsession with backstory that serves no purpose comes in handy. Anyone else you want to know about? ;p

Yay--yep, there are more people I want to ask about!

Somnus, Dr. Forrester and Jake Bloom. :)

[identity profile] awanderingbard.livejournal.com 2007-11-07 06:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Nifty. :-)

Dr. Forrester
- Came to Chicago from London to do his fellowship, met his future wife (whose name is Nina) two days before he was supposed to return home and purposely missed the flight back to go on a date with her. He never did book another flight.
- Wanted to be a surgeon but didn't have the hands for it. He switched to the diagnostics programme and found he liked it much more, anyway.
- In the last four days has slept approximately 10 hours. Thinks he's seeing ghosts, but chalks it up to exhaustion.

Jake Bloom
- His first day on the job consisted of arresting an old lady for shoplifting, directing traffic after a traffic light went out and raiding a warehouse full of drugged-out kids on Third Eye, alongside Murphy, Kirmani and some guy who thought he was a wizard.
- Has seen pretty much every zombie movie ever made. Had to stop watching them with Jade, since they always sparked heated debates of philosophy and metaphors for a post-apocalyptic, dystopic society. He just likes zombies.
- Talked to Jade at the morgue, even though she couldn't hear him. It calmed him down. Also, the worst part of being dead? Having to perpetually wear a hospital gown.

Aw, I love those! Dr. Forrester's such a sweetheart. And Jake's first day--that's great. And the zombies! I can so see Jade being the type who wants to analyze everything, and poor Jake just wants to watch the zombies. I can see him complaining about the gown, too. I love this meme.
