Quick Canon Question + Icons
Quick question on Agent Carter canon, though more of an opinion than anything else:
In Season One, Jarvis says he was 'aide' to a General in Budapest. I assumed that he meant 'aide-de-camp', which is a sort of secretarial position, but I recently saw Jarvis mentioned on TVtropes as a 'batman', and that actually makes a lot more sense (batman was a servant to an officer, in charge of running errands, driving him, taking care of his clothing, digging his foxhole in battle, etc.). Did the AC writers use 'aide' so not to confuse American audiences, who probably would have gone to Bruce Wayne at the use of batman? It just makes more sense to me for him to be a batman, and go into life as a butler (historically, batmans often followed their officers into domestic service), than to be an aide-de-camp, which was a very prestigious position, and then have all the skills to be a butler later on.
Any thoughts?
Also, while I'm here, I said I was going to make some Ana Jarvis icons and I did. If any wants them, please feel free to use. Credit to
songstressicons and/or
citadel_icons if you'd like, but it's not necessary. Also, I'm trying to get the hang of a new graphics program, so if anyone would like any other Agent Carter icons, I'm happy to make them if you give me a picture or subject.

To be fair, he was speaking to Peggy, who would know what one was. But yeah, Jarvis and Howard probably had that discussion at some point.
Howard: How many bats does he need? Does he beat people with them?
Jarvis: Pardon me? Oh! Good heavens, none at all. No, never. There are no bats involved at all. A bat is a bag, a saddle bag. It's archaic. I just valet him.
Howard: Okay, good, 'cause where I grew up, let me tell you, that was a profession you could probably have. And hey, one I could still use, actually.
My brain has decided it needed to write Jarvis and Ana meeting, so that's fic number a billion that I'm working on right now. I still have no idea how their timeline works, but I'm going with the idea that they met, knew each other for three weeks, separated, and Jarvis stole a plane and came to get her in 1941. Otherwise we have a huge gap of three years either before Jarvis was caught and put on trial, or that he waited around for three years to start working for Howard after he got him off the hook.
Lovely icons!
Thanks! My old graphics programme doesn't come with a Mac version, so I've been playing around with substitutes. I added a couple more icons. I found some good caps of Ana smiling, which I couldn't find last night.
EDITED: to fix a sentence I later read back and even I didn't know what I was trying to say.
