Yeah, Disney seems to waffle between Song of the South being really racist or only a little bit racist.
I'm actually surprised by how much I've seen, considering that I was so very sensitive as a child that I rarely saw anything for fear that it would be 'scary'. I think I've caught up a lot as a teenager/adult though.
Anime is not my cup of tea, so I've not seen any of that, but I'm working my way through the Miyazaki films.
