awanderingbard: (MCU: Angie)
Title: People Who Like Each Other
Characters: Angie, Peggy, Howard, Jarvis, Bond
Rating: PG
Warnings/Triggers: slight innuendo, passing mentions of war wounds
Spoilers: A few general ones for Agent Carter Season One
Pairings: Angie/Bond
Word Count 7,892
Summary: Angie’s attempts at a Very British Christmas don’t go quite to plan, but luckily there are people who like each other around to help make it a memorable day anyway.
Author's notes: Follows Ships in the Night, The Second Threat, and Next Time, Dinner, but I don’t think those need to be read to follow this at all. This was one of the fics salvaged from the Great Flash Drive Disaster of 2015, and I’ve managed to get it done for Christmas! Go me. I tossed Bond in here, because this will probably all be AU once Season Two of Agent Carter rolls in, anyway. I haven’t seen Spectre, and won’t until it hits DVD, but this isn’t canon anyway, so I don’t think it matters if there are any discrepancies.

I hope everyone who celebrates Christmas has a lovely one, and that everyone who doesn’t has a lovely break, too.

People who like each other should be together on Christmas. )

I'm not sure if this will be interesting to anyone, but I always like seeing speedpaints and progressions of art stuff, so I thought other people might as well.

This is a sort of step-by-step of a daemon portrait, of James Hathaway and his daemon, Ismini. Not really a tutorial, though I'm happy to clarify if anyone has any questions.

I use Paint Shop Pro 18, and The GIMP.

Images used are this one, from a Google search, and this one, from Wikimedia commons.

Ismini is a Mountain weasel, but I couldn't find a good picture of a mountain weasel (they're shy), so I used a polecat, which is also in the mustela family, and changed her colour to look a little more like a mountain weasel. But she is still too dark. But we take what we can get.

Pro-tip, if you click here, you can view it as a slideshow and not have to click in and out of each image link. Just use the arrows to go ahead or back.

Title: Next Time, Dinner
Characters: Angie, Bond, Peggy
Rating: PG
Warnings/Triggers: wounds, suturing, infections, some innuendo
Spoilers: A few general ones for Agent Carter Season One
Pairings: Angie/Bond
Word Count 5,587
Summary: Angie has a third encounter with a certain British spy, this time injured, not wearing pants, and in her apartment.
Author's notes: Follows Ships in the Night, and The Second Threat. Last part of this 'Triple Threat' trilogy, and I think I've gotten everyone to where I wanted them to be. I may write more, but this leaves it off nicely if I don't, I think.

And why aren't you wearing pants?! )
awanderingbard: (MCU: Angie)
Title: The Second Threat
Characters: Angie, Bond, Peggy, Howard
Rating: PG
Warnings/Triggers: sexual harassment considered acceptable for the time period
Spoilers: A few general ones for Agent Carter Season One
Pairings: heavy Angie/Bond flirting
Word Count 3,111
Summary: Angie moonlights as a cocktail waitress for a night for a crowd of people that is full of celebrities, and, as it turns out, spies.
Author's notes: I was trying to write a sequel to Ships in the Night, and somewhere along the way the first part of the story got entirely separated from the second half of the story, and the more I tried to join them together, the harder it got to write, and then I remembered that you can actually write stories that aren't 9,000 words long sometimes. So, I broke it off into a short interlude of espionage fun and will do something with the second part later on.

The song that Angie and Bond dance to is 'That's For Me' by Dick Haymes (from 'State Fair').

I think this uniform suits you better. )
awanderingbard: (MCU: Peggy)
Title: Ships in the Night
Characters: Angie, Peggy, Bond, Jarvis, Sousa
Rating: PG
Warnings/Triggers: some violence, lots of sexual badinage, quite a lot of female gaze
Spoilers: Oblique references to Skyfall, general spoilers for Agent Carter Season One
Pairings: heavy Angie/Bond flirting
Word Count 9,142
Summary: Angie is given care of a cute drugged British spy that Peggy brings home, and has a little adventure along the way.
Author's notes: This is one of the less weird results of the crossover memes [livejournal.com profile] joonscribble and I did a while back. Her memes kept throwing Angie and James Bond together, and we both decided that sounded like an interesting concept. So, I wrote a story.

The characters refused to do what I originally had planned, and it went slightly odd on me. I hope it's okay. This is also the longest I've ever tried to sustain a Bond voice, and he's very finicky. I hope he's all right as well.

To help my brain, I've simply placed the James Bond universe in the 1940s, rather than involving time travel. I've done my best to patch it over to work. This story takes place post-Skyfall.

You're being very lazy today. )
awanderingbard: (SHERLOCK: Trio)
Title: A Study in Prying
Characters: Q, Mycroft, Sherlock, Old Q, some Q-branch minions
Rating: PG
Warnings/Triggers: none
Spoilers: A Study in Pink
Pairings: none
Word Count 2, 418
Summary: Trevelyan does some prying at Mycroft's behest, and finds out it's a little more personal than he was told.
Author's notes:Set in the Trio 'verse A short little fic that I randomly finished last night (for some reason I had left it with one paragraph to go, so I went 'hey, I should probably write that paragraph'). Set during A Study in Pink. I wanted to do something in the Trio verse during Series 1, as I hadn't covered any of that yet.

Q is not Q yet, and is therefore called 'Trevelyan' throughout. However, Old Q is also there, and is called Q throughout. I realized this may be troublesome, but I couldn't figure out a better way to do it. I picture Old Q being Scottish, if that's helpful to anyone's mental images.

Much of John's backstory is speculation on my part.

Don't you have people whom you pay who could do this for you? )
awanderingbard: (SHERLOCK: Trio)
Title: The Thought that Counts
Characters: Q, Efimia, Sherlock, Tzophiya, misc background people and daemons
Rating: PG
Warnings/Triggers: references to drug use and addiction
Spoilers:none
Pairings: none
Word Count 3,767
Summary: Trevelyan gets a break from preparing for his thesis defense by the rather unusual phenomenon of his brother wanting to celebrate his birthday.
Author's notes: I started this to get an idea of how Efi moved and spoke for a different fic, and it turned into an actual fic, so here we are. Makes references to a character from Inspector Lewis, but no knowledge is required, and technically the references are so vague, you could make him a separate, unrelated character easily. But still, that technically makes this a triple crossover daemon au of an au. Take that, space time continuum! This, if it were part of the main Trio verse, would take place about 6-7 months post-"Big Brother Instincts". Trevelyan would just be twenty-four, and Sherlock around twenty-seven. Also makes some references to the canon story 'The Adventure of the Gloria Scott'.

Knowledge of His Dark Materials is not required. All that's necessary to know is that, in this world, humans' souls live outside of their bodies in the form of animals. There's an excellent primer here.

For reference: Efimia (a degu), Tzophiya (a grey lourie), Suman (a Clark's Nutcracker), and Ismini (a mountain weasel).

So, you're ringing to wish me a 'Happy Life Ruining Day'? )

Title: Countdown
Characters: Sherlock, John, mind palace!Mycroft, Q, Mummy and Siger
Rating: PG-13
Warnings/Triggers: a bomb situation, maybe a bit bittersweet, swearing
Pairings: John/Mary (background)
Spoilers: The Sign of Three
Word Count 2,302
Summary: Sherlock has to disarm a bomb—properly this time. Luckily, he has some help.
Author's notes: Set in the Trio 'verse.

I was really intrigued by Sherlock's mind palace in Series Three, and I thought it might be a neat challenge to see if I could write it. I ended up doing Trio verse, because that's where the ideas came from. Vaguely post-Series Three.

It will hopefully be apparent, but in case it isn't, anything in Italics is going on inside Sherlock's head.

Um, bombs probably don't work this way, but there's only so much you can Google before it starts to get weird...

Who do we have to help us? )

Title: Carry On
Characters: Q, Sherlock, Mycroft, Mummy, Grand-maman
Rating: PG-13
Warnings/Triggers: death of a parent, angst, implications of underage smoking
Pairings: none
Spoilers: none
Word Count 4,671
Summary: The Holmes brothers deal with the sudden death of their father, and Trevelyan learns how to carry on.
Author's notes: Set in the Trio 'verse.

Most of this was written before I got my cold, but it was edited while sick, so please forgive anything weird that may be going on. It is angsty, given the subject matter, but I've tried to sprinkle some humour in here and there.

I think I've mentioned that the Holmes brothers went to Harrow in previous fics, but it turns out that I had assumed one started at Harrow at age 11, like a secondary school, but one actually starts at age 13. Which made the start of this fic, and some of the other stuff I've mentioned, not work at all. So, I have now decided, rather than do a whole bunch of rewriting, that the Holmes brothers attended Unnamed Public School (Which Bears a Strong Resemblance to Harrow).

Trevelyan is 11, Sherlock is 14, and Mycroft is 21.

It had to be bad for both Holmes Major and Minor to be summoned. )

Title: A Way Out
Characters: Q, Sherlock, Mycroft, Bond
Rating: R
Warnings/Triggers: language, angst
Pairings: John/Mary (background)
Spoilers: His Last Vow, The Reichenbach Fall, Skyfall
Word Count 2,302
Summary: Q and Sherlock say goodbye. But maybe not forever.
Author's notes: Set in the Trio 'verse.

I'm sorry for my obsessive need to write Sherlock from Q's point of view. I had to get this out of my system, apparently. 90% was written in one sitting. Apologies for any rough patches. Also, apologies for the vague summary, I didn't want to spoil.

Because they are so ingrained in this verse, I'm keeping my Holmes parents my OC ones.

This is relatively angsty, for me. Like, a good eight on the Bard Scale of Angstyness, but probably much lower on a general scale.

Hello, Mr Holmes. I'm the Quartermaster. )

Title: Back to Normal
Characters: Q, Mycroft, Sherlock, Mrs Hudson, John
Rating: PG-13
Warnings/Triggers: some language
Pairings: none
Spoilers: The Empty Hearse
Word Count 4,245
Summary: Sherlock Holmes returns. Q helps him get his life back.
Author's notes: Set in the Trio 'verse, filling in the gap between "The Roles We Play" and "Happy Birthday"

First story of 2014! It's AU. I promise I will write something canon. Soon. Just filling in the gap in the verse, here.

Apologies for my Serbian. I did what I could with Professor Google.

When did you get a cat? )

Title: Normal Christmases
Characters: Sherlock, Q, Mycroft, John
Rating: PG
Warnings/Triggers: some mentions/discussions of a dead parent
Spoilers: none
Pairings: none
Word Count 2,866
Summary: Sherlock fulfills his Christmas favours for the year, and accidentally has a family reunion with his brothers.
Author's notes: Set in the Trio 'verse.

I wasn't going to write a Trio-verse Christmas fic, but then this happened. A not very Christmassy-Christmas fic. Apologies for some not very vigilant nursing. It got in the way of the dialogue, so I don't have as much of it as should likely be going on.

Also, apologies to Q. I promise to write something good happening to him at some point.

Christmas and birthday favours were currency, and refusing to fill one meant not getting yours filled in return. )
awanderingbard: (SHERLOCK: Trio)
Title: Happy Birthday
Characters:Dora, Sherlock, Q, Mycroft, John (briefly)
Rating: PG
Warnings/Triggers: some mentions/discussions of a dead parent/husband
Spoilers: The Reichenbach Fall
Pairings: none
Word Count 4,993
Summary: One year, four birthday celebrations.
Author's notes: Set in the Trio 'verse.

Set Post-Return, which I am trying to write but finding it hard to do without actual knowledge of what did and will happen. I hope to fill in the gap at some point.

Fluff.

Yes, what about my birthday? )
awanderingbard: (SHERLOCK: Trio)
Title: The Roles We Play
Characters: Q, Mycroft, Mummy
Rating: PG-13
Warnings/Triggers: someone losing a home to a fire, brief vomiting, references to and discussion of a dead parent
Spoilers:The Reichenbach Fall, Skyfall
Pairings: None
Word Count 5,868
Summary: Q finds himself temporarily homeless, and is taken in by his big brother.
Author's notes: I really struggled to get Mycroft and Q to have a story to themselves, and then once I got going...I couldn't stop. So, this is quite long. More of a character study than anything. I hope it's okay.

Makes references to "Simple Things", set between that and "Most of the Time". Trio 'verse stories.

Hey look, no ships!

They would just have to wait until something was made available. )
awanderingbard: (SHERLOCK: Trio)
Title: Big Brother Instincts
Characters: Sherlock, Trevelyan
Rating: PG-13
Warnings/Triggers: very heavy references to drug use and lighter suggestions of withdrawal, a mugging, some awkward family moments
Spoilers: none
Pairings: none
Word Count 3,474
Summary: Sherlock goes to his brother's aid to stave off boredom, and they attempt to repair past damage done.
Author's notes: You know how I write lots of stories at once and then they all get finished at the same time? This might be happening again. My apologies.

This story is a bit more dramatic than I usually write, with some family drama and dealing with the aftermath of Sherlock's addiction. However, being me, it isn't all doom and gloom. Set Pre-Series One of Sherlock and Pre-Skyfall, probably by about six years for the former. Trevelyan is roughly twenty-three and Sherlock is roughly twenty-six.

Set in the Trio 'verse.

The very underdeveloped big brother instinct in Sherlock reacted quite forcibly to the state of his brother when he emerged from the police station. )
awanderingbard: (SHERLOCK: Trio)
Title: Comfort
Characters: Siger, Trevelyan, Mycroft, Sherlock
Rating: PG-13
Warnings/Triggers: stab wound (no blood) as a result of a random act of violence, disscussions (but no instances of) vomitting
Spoilers: none
Pairings: none
Word Count 2, 521
Summary: After one of his sons is injured, Siger Holmes is forced to do what he is the worst at—caring.
Author's notes: Third part in the 'What If?' series. This is Mycroft's entry, Sherlock's entry is here and Q's entry is here.

Set in the Trio 'verse.

It was unsettling to see Mycroft out of sorts.  )
awanderingbard: (SHERLOCK: Trio)
Title: Coffee
Characters: Q, Father, M
Rating: PG
Warnings/Triggers: none, except for some slightly black humour
Spoilers: The Reichenbach Fall
Pairings: none
Word Count 1, 701
Summary: The new Quartermaster gets pulled out of Q-branch for a coffee break (and pep talk) with his father.
Author's notes: Second part in the 'What If?' series. This is Q's entry, Sherlock's entry is here

There are several mentions to the Quartermaster previous to Q (Trevelyan) and after confusing myself while writing, I made the decision to call Skyfall's Q 'Trevelyan' and the previous Q 'Q'. With one exception, which should be clear. M's first name comes from widely accepted canon/fanon.

Set in the Trio 'verse.

I've shamelessly stole some of [livejournal.com profile] joonscribble's headcanon, because she has smart thoughts.

Has your brother passed some sort of coffee curfew law? )
awanderingbard: (SHERLOCK: Trio)
Title: Consult
Characters: John, Sherlock, Mr Holmes
Rating: PG
Warnings/Triggers: none
Spoilers: none
Pairings: none
Word Count 2, 683
Summary: Sherlock Holmes consults an expert for his case, and John meets the head of the Holmes family.
Author's notes: Yes, this is an AU of an AU. It's not technically [livejournal.com profile] joonscribble's fault, but she certainly did nothing to prevent it from happening. We were talking about what Mr Holmes would be like with his grown-up sons, had he lived, and here we are. This is tentatively the first of three shortish stories, one for each brother. The story is not sad in and of itself, but in a sort of 'what if' fashion, might come off a bit bittersweet.

I started with Sherlock, as I thought he'd be the most changed by Mr Holmes living. I think he'd be just slightly warmer and caring. Slightly.

Set in the Trio 'verse.

I'm sorry I only write AUs (and AUs of AUs) these days. I need Series Three, I just keep writing increasingly weirder things. Someone might need to take my keyboard away.

Sherlock, who exactly are we here to consult? )
awanderingbard: (SHERLOCK: Trio)
Title: Simple Things
Characters: Q, Mummy, Mycroft, Sherlock
Rating: PG-13
Warnings/Triggers: brief disarming of bombs, some discussion of a dead parent, oblique references to past drug use
Spoilers: The Reichenbach Fall
Pairings: none
Word Count 6,013
Summary: The Quartermaster, The British Government and the Deadman Walking come home for Christmas with their mother.
Author's notes: This ended up being both longer and more bittersweet than I was expecting. I wouldn't call it angsty, but there's a few semi-sad moments in it. It is a complete, stand alone story, but I may write another part of it. I'm not sure if the second part is fully needed, so we'll see how it goes.

Set in the Trio 'verse.

This was why he didn't drink wine. It made him sentimental. )
