So, I was watching my Dresden DVDs today and I noticed a couple of things. (Mild spoilers for Things that Go Bump)
One thing I noted was that the upstairs to Harry's apartment is just a loft. It has no walls or doors. Which I could have SWORN it had in Things that Go Bump, because they take Mai up there and she's just gone. However, I noticed that when Harry runs up to check on her, she's lying on the floor (they couldn't have put her to bed, btw?) and there's no actual room. So, my description in my Child's Play story is wrong. Apparently in my reality Harry got bored one day and had a bit of money in the bank and said 'hey, I'm gonna build a wall here'. Which, come to think of it, I could probably write a story about...
The other thing I noticed was that Murphy works at the 27th District. So do the Rays and Fraser in Due South. This irked me, because I was hoping they'd be in different precincts so there was a reason they all hadn't run into each other before, should I decide to crossover. So, I guess I'll have to move one set of partners. Boo.
/end ramblings

Really? What the heck, TV writers? Is the 27th District the ONLY district in Chicago?
...should I decide to crossover.
I would like that 'should' to become 'when.'

Well, it's in progress, I'm just trying to decide how to bring together all the ideas I have. Plus Harry and RayK won't stop talking to each other and Fraser won't say anything except exposition and I have to beat some sense into them all.

Date: 2007-09-08 11:01 pm (UTC)Haha! Well, my thought for this was that the fight that went on up there in Harry's loft had dislodged Mai from the bed somehow and, as a result, sent her to the ground. I can't really picture any warden being so dense as to just say, "Hey! I don't feel like carrying you another five steps, so I'm just going to get you up the stairs and DROP you wherever I feel like it!"
Heee. You just don't do that to those on the High Council! It's not an intelligent thing! O_O But yeah. I thought it was rather amusing all the same. *g*
Oh, and I cannot even begin to express how much I love the whole of that apartment, the loft being one of the key selling points in my mind. Ooo! It's so prettyful! (yes, not a word, but I assume you know what I mean ^_~). I'd love to visit a place like that. All the books, and the antique-looking things, and the candles and the lab...it's all just so interesting! I mightily applaud the prop-people for their wonderful efforts. They did a darn good job on that show. ^__^
Hmm...and I must inquire: have you heard about "Magic Monday?" Dresdencity.org is trying to get a ton of people to send in DF-centered postcards to Lionsgate this coming Monday, with the intention of creating a flood of DF-positive mail that will hopefully have an effect. And because I am still so optimistically hopeful about the show, I'm spreading around the word everywhere I can, even if it means temporarily turning myself into a terribly annoying spam-poster. =D I want people to write in! Is that so wrong? o_o
Oh, and by the way. I loved your "The Right Shoes" fic. It's so tender and sweet and it feels like family! ...and the good kind of family. Not just the kind where everyone sits around and tolerates each other, along with occasionally asking so-and-so to "please pass the mashed potatoes" and then falling into a stormy silence around the dinner table once the task of passing the food bowl is accomplished. In your fic, I really see the bonds these characters have, and I love them! You write kids so well. It's truly a beautiful thing to read. ^_^
