a. What initially prompted me to like the character enough to write about him/her.

I just loved Harry's internal monologue - like the ones he does during the show. I loved the narration and the little quips about him. It just appealed to me and as I read the books, I started to like the character even more, because I could add those little things to him from the books that weren't, or couldn't be shown, on the TV show. Paul Blackthorne owning the character didn't hurt either. :-D

b. One of his/her best traits.

I think Harry's best trait is his ability to spring back after a blow. He doesn't let the bastards get him down and even if he's about to die, he isn't going down without a well-placed quip or two.

c. One of his/her worst traits.

Probably his anger. You can see a lot of it in him even as a kid, that righteous indignation and the 'I'm right, shut up' quality to him. It's mellowed out of him as an adult a bit, but it obviously gets him in trouble still. 'I scare the hell out of myself sometimes' pretty much sums it up. :D

d. How easy/difficult I find it to write the character.

Tremendously easy, actually. Harry just works for me, which is why I think I write from his point of view so much. Book!Harry I find much harder to write than TV!Harry. Book!Harry has a very unique sense of humour that I don't feel I could do justice too. It darker than TV!Harry's. In any case, whatever I want Harry to do, he does pretty much without complaint.

e. The story/chapter/paragraph/phrase where I feel that I truly captured the character.

From Rescue, Mai's POV:

I don't like Dresden. There's too much Morningway in him and Morningways are always trouble. Nearly a century of trouble, maybe more. Maggie Morningway was almost an exception. She would have been, if she could have stopped that stupid need to fix things. The same need that drove Dresden into freeing a couple dozen kids by trading himself for their place, when he should have just contacted the council and let us handle it. Dresden always has one foot in stupid and one foot in heroic and I'm left with the mess.

f. My plans (if any) to write the character in the near future.

As long as Harry keeps doing stuff in my mind, I'll keep writing it down. :-D
