OMG, Zip sent me the Adventures of Simbad on DVD, season one. I used to watch it when I was, like, tenish. It used be on on Saturday mornings with Xena and Hercules, on Global. I loved it so much. But Mum and I were watching it tonight and it's so terrible. I mean, the acting is awful and the writing is awful and I literally can do better CGI on my Poser programme and one of the characters we could not figure out if she was American trying to be Irish or Irish trying to be American, but she failed either way. It was awesome! It was adorably awful. And had baby Robin Dunne in it.

Now they need to get The Secret Adventures of Jules Verne on DVD and I can relive all my childhood favourites.

I would LOVE it if The Secret Adventures of Jules Verne came out on DVD. That was a great, great show. Apparently there were massive debts associated with it so it's ridiculously unlikely.

Were you aware the edited/SCIFI channel version is on youtube?

Woot! Enjoy!

I wish they were the longer version. I caught the long version once and only a few episodes when they aired on a random channel here at 1am or something, but didn't realize the difference until halfway through the finale which I had taped off SCIFI and watched a million times so I realized there were some bits being aired that I had never seen.

There wasn't a lot that was different, maybe an extra 2 minute scene here and a slightly longer scene there, but I really wished I realized earlier and had taped it.

Oh well, at least this version was preserved by some smart individual!

I think I probably saw the originals when they first aired, because I watched on CBC and I think that was one of the production partners of it. They showed them again on Space a few years back, but I don't know if they were the originals or edited versions. On both occasions, the show was shown early in the morning on a weekend and I frequently missed out on it.

I remember reading somewhere that they showed the episodes out of order in the States, so some of the plotline didn't make sense. I don't know why they do that and then wonder why people don't watch the show.
