My brother and I have always got on really well, but we were sort of fire-forged by circumstances. There was a lot of illness and crap when I was little, and so we stuck together.
Mycroft and Sherlock clearly haven't gotten to the "much better as adults" part.
Ha! My own head canon has them worse as adults, actually. I think they were okay as children, but fell-out when they got older.
