Thank you! This was a weird fic that started out in my mind as being about Sherlock providing comfort, but it shifted to John doing most of the work. Q seemed more inclined to chat with John, and Sherlock was happier providing physical care than being comforting with Facts. I'm glad it seemed to you to be in character, as they were all acting like I didn't want them to.
It makes so much sense and I had this immediate image of Q practically gritting his teeth at the sound of John's hunting and pecking.
This is exactly how I am when Mum types an e-mail. If we're working together on something computerish, I have to do all the work or I just end up sitting there twitching. I'm like that scene in one of the Nero Wolfe episodes where Wolfe is using the typewriter, and Archie is sitting there looking agonized, pretending to type on the table.
