This one was a bit hard, as I think a lot of the more memorable moments I've written about, so I've gone with the most unexpectedly sweet thing Sarah remembers him doing.
Best Man
"Is Sherlock okay?" Sarah asked, quietly.
"Yeah, I think he's getting his Best Man speech out of his mind palace," John replied.
Sure enough, a moment later Sherlock's eyes opened and he stood up, picking up a glass and tapping it. The room fell silent.
"Here we go," John muttered. He took her hand under the table.
"When I'm trying to order my thoughts for a case or puzzling out a problem or forcing myself to write a Best Man speech," Sherlock began. "I often compose music. It helps me sort out and organize everything I know or need to know. However, in this instance, I seem to have ended up with a song and no solution. I consulted a person in the know," he nodded toward Mrs Hudson, who smiled. "And we both decided it was probably for the best if I didn't attempt to speak at all. So, instead I'm going to play. Molly?"
Molly scurried up from the back of the room with Sherlock's violin in hand. He took it from her and she scurried away again.
"This composition is entitled 'This is Ridiculous'," Sherlock announced. He tucked the violin under his chin and began to play.
John and Sarah both started laughing, as the beginning of the song was extremely frustrated sounding, all discordant notes and stabbing, quick sounds. After about thirty seconds, it settled out into something quite nice, if still a bit hostile sounding. Then, it went into a sweeping finale, which was just plain pleasant and simple and...sort of John and Sarah sounding. Sherlock finished with a flourish, and there was an odd round of applause, uncertain from those who didn't know Sherlock and wondered if he was taking the piss, and enthusiastic from those who did know him and knew it was actually very sincere.
Sherlock bowed and sat down. "I added the last bit this morning," he said to John and Sarah. "Mrs Hudson said it was too angry." He looked to Sarah, who was wiping an unexpected tear away. "Not good?"

"No," Sarah agreed. "Brilliant."
