Fanfic has been so useful in teaching me new vocabulary, particularly for medical terms (I learned "tachycardia" and "cyanosis" from you, I believe!), but I'm sure I'm also on government watchlists for some fanfic-related Google searches...

Medical jargon is my favourite! I'm lucky enough to have a nurse right at hand when I'm writing, so I can ask really weird questions and she very patiently answers them for me. Both my parents are in the medical profession, so I think I grew up with it at the dinner table. I really enjoy hurt/comfort specifically because I like doing all the medical bits.
