Like...deciding to eat some bread. That was a neutral choice.
I'm now trying to think of a good choice Merlin made, and I literally can't think of one. Everything he did resulted in shit happening. If he hadn't come to Camelot, everyone would still be alive. Except all the dead sorcerers, of course. But hell, that sort of happened anyway.
