If we go by how Tony gifts things, I imagine Dejeni suggests putting a gear off the first project they ever successfully completed into a necklace for Maria or something. Like weird, but oddly thoughtful.

To go with your theory, I'd imagine Santa's reindeer daemon simply helps pull the sleigh full of gifts.
Maybe in the daemon 'verse, Santa's daemon is like their Rudolph and magically transformed into a reindeer one snowy night to guide the sleigh because the non-daemon reindeer weren't getting shit done and she had to take charge.
I've always wondered what non-daemon animals do when they meet a daemon who looks like them. Do they know it's a daemon or do they try to chat and the daemon is all 'I"m sorry, I don't speak panda'.
