I can hear this (and much else) as if Peggy had said it aloud. Good job on her.
Thank you! I kind of enjoy writing Peggy with Howard, because she has this really sisterly combination of finding him annoying and caring a lot about him.
And you get the Aelfgyfu Seal of Approval for Concussion Handling! Poor Howard! I still have odd memories of what that's like—knowing that I was repeating questions but not remembering the answers.
Thank you! As I was writing, I actually thought about you and your bike accident (?), and your saying that you never recovered the few hours surrounding it. There was originally another section on the end of this fic with Howard coming back to work and mentioning he still can't remember anything after he went to sleep the night before, which was what made me think of you.
The thing that got me interested in the anterograde amnesia was a thread on Reddit, with people talking about their experiences, so I had a lot of first-hand accounts to go on. I found it all really interesting. Brain injuries are kind of terrifying but fascinating to me.
I imagine concussed Steve would not be a lot of fun either, but at least he'd be not a lot of fun for a much shorter span of time.
The shorter time span would probably just make it more funny than worrying. You know he'd be fine in a few minutes, so just enjoy how sweetly confused he is. I was picturing him asking where his shield was while hugging it protectively to his chest and Peggy just sort of pointing down and him looking really relieved it was still there.
I love this story!
Thank you very much! I'm so glad. Thanks for reading and commenting!
