I love the wine valve! My grandfather-in-law was an engineer. We bought a used Saab from an uncle. Something that controlled the heat had gone while the uncle owned it, so Grandpa replaced it with a bathroom valve. Every fall, my husband would open the valve so warm air could get into the car from the engine, and every spring he closed it again. That fix cost a couple bucks in parts and lasted as long as the whole rest of the car (and no doubt longer, really).
I'm glad Pax is feeling better, even if he's a pain.
