I can totally picture Harry glaring at Bob for trying way too hard to be obedient to every little thing Harry says. It's kind of like: "Stop it. You're better than that, and you're freaking me out."
Exactly. That's exactly what I thought. Bob is afraid he'll be abandoned and is trying to do exactly what Harry asks him to do and Harry finds it very annoying that Bob doesn't have the trust in him. I don't know if you've ever read/seen Ella Enchanted, but in the book it mentions that whenever Ella was ordered accidentally by Mandy, and was forced to obey, she always tried to stop and question it. That's what Harry wants Bob to do. To ask whether he has to or whether that's a good idea. To show that he's still got life in him.
