For my intoabar story:

Anybody have any thoughts on what the Firefly 'verse equivalent of a upright Mountie would be? Alliance seems too evil and a sheriff seems too common place.

What about a private security guy? In the Firefly movie they rob the security team on the planet or at least they try before the Reavers show up.

Ooh, that might work. It would definitely have the 'what the hell are you doing here, you don't work here?' thing, plus I could make them some sort of a freak elite security team.
