Yesterday sucked, obviously, but one good thing did happen and it couldn't have happened at a better time. A little while back I mentioned the fandom auction for

foresthouse's eye surgery. We did an amazing job as a community, raising about $8000 in a two week period, which is enough for both of Emily's eyes to be done. She's had one done so far and her vision in that eye has gone from 20/400 to 20/80. We're gearing up for another round of auctions in January to help her with additional expenses.

Anyway, the auction I won was to have

silverfyshxin make me a clay figuerine of my choice. I chose Mal from Firefly and he arrived yesterday. She did such an awesome job with it. He's just tiny, tiny, and he has his browncoat and his little suspenders and his guns and his ears!
