Merlin Question

awanderingbardThis is more of an opinion thing than a canon thing.
If Arthur and Morgana were staying in another country (like on a diplomatic visit), where would Gwen and Merlin sleep? In Arthur and Morgana's rooms? Near their rooms? Some sort of servant's quarters? Part of the problem is I can't really figure out how it works on the show. Merlin clearly has a room with Gaius and Gwen has her little house, but when Arthur and Morgana wake up in the middle of the night and yell for them, they both arrive from somewhere very nearby, fully dressed. I don't expect this show to make sense, I don't care if the show makes sense, but it does make it hard to write fic.
Any thoughts?
Also, if anyone has seen my word fairy, could you send her home? I think she's gotten lost somewhere.
