Merlin: His Father's Son

Random thoughts below the cut.
- This is the first episode I've noticed Merlin calling Arthur "Arthur" to his face, instead of sire or your highness. I am still really enjoying these little details as their relationship changes.
- Arthur has to be the only person in the world who CAN'T sneak through Camelot without being noticed. I find this highly amusing.
- I know Morgana is crazy and all, but how does she figure she's the 'rightful' ruler of Camelot? She's an illegitimate, presumably younger, daughter. That's three strikes right there.
- I really wish people in Camelot would look at each other once in awhile. Then everyone would notice Merlin doing magic right next to them and Agravain smiling at inappropriate times.
- Thank you Queen of Wherever for calling Morgana on her shit. Even if you seemed to get over your husband's murder very quickly.
- I find it hilarious that even the writers seem to be embracing the HoYay this series. It's like they've just gone "screw it, the fans aren't going to leave it alone, we might as well have fun with it"
- Arthur needs a new haircut.
- Next week looks fun!

Date: 2012-02-05 03:42 am (UTC)I loved loved loved the knights in this one- they are so devoted to Arthur, and they treat Merlin like their kid brother too. It's just so great.
Aggravaine. Ugh. So aggravating. They could not make his duplicitous more obvious if they tried. ugh.
Oh well. *sigh*

Date: 2012-02-05 03:18 pm (UTC)Yes, I was quite pleased with the knights in this episode. They were there for something more than comic relief and I liked that Merlin is starting to be one of the gang instead of just Arthur's servant. Arthur also called him 'friend' in this episode, which might be the first time.
Subtly is not their strong suit. Morgana would have been found out much earlier if they'd just watched her smirking last series.
But like I've said, I watch for the pretty boys going swishy-clang. So I can't really complain.
