awanderingbard: (MERLIN: Merlin finds you weird)

I've noticed lately that I tend to act out my character's facial expressions while writing. So if I'm writing 'so and so smiled', I smile while I'm writing it, or if they're saying something clever, I look clever, or if they're angry I furrow my brow. I found myself typing about someone biting their lip while biting my lip.

I'm not sure if it's the actor in me, or the fact that I'm very visual, so maybe I feel I can see what I'm writing and doing the sympathetic mimicry we all do when having conversations. As though I'm talking to the characters.

Or maybe I'm just weird.

I do it sometimes, but more when I'm trying to figure out what the character is doing and how to word it.

I do that, as well, especially if I have to figure out where someone is moving to or from and whether it would be to the left or right.
