Hoping to boost my word fairy, I thought I'd do a backstory meme. She likes those.

Character Questions Meme
1. Go here to generate 10 random numbers between 1 and 100.

2. Choose a character that I write or have written, be it a canon person, an OC or whatever. Feel free to pick a character that was used last time, as the questions will most likely be different this time around.

3. Comment with the character and the numbers, and then I will answer the corresponding questions from here

OCS and AU versions of characters are welcome.

So sorry to hear you're struggling with writing, hon. Really hope it will go away quite soon - in the best case with this meme. Otherwise I really need to have some words with your word fairy. :)

98 - Molly, please.

Thanks. She's slowly working her way back to full strength. We managed to finish one story last night, but it needs some work. And my other one is crawling along, but my Lestrade insists on sounding like John, so I have to work on that. We'll get there.

Looks like you didn't generate enough numbers, so I've generated them for you, and one ended up being a repeat, so I've swapped 98 in there. :-) I'm also assuming you want canon Molly, since you didn't specify otherwise.

Molly Hooper

96. If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left.

Oh. Oh! Erm...hmmm...well, I would want to say goodbye to everyone, so I would probably at least go and hug them and tell them that I love them, and maybe tell them what I've always wanted to say but was afraid to. Only good things, though, not bad ones. Good things I haven't said. What else? I suppose I might want to do something like sky diving or bungee jumping, since it wouldn't really matter if something went wrong. And I'd have a big dinner and eat whatever I wanted. Maybe combine that with the first one. I'd have everyone over and eat my favourite food, and tell them that I love them.

Or I might ask a really fit man if he wanted to have a one stand night. But only if he knew the circumstances. It would be really cruel to do that and maybe he'd like me, and then I'd be dead. Which would be annoying for me, too, to have someone like me just before I died.

No. Dinner, nice words, and bungee jumping. Final answer.

75. What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)?

I don't have very sophisticated tastes, I'm afraid. I like romantic comedies, and the Spice Girls, and Poirot. I think good entertainment should leave you feeling happy, even if sad things happen along the way. I don't really care for bleak films. I deal with enough sad things at work. Sad things should end happily.

77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night?

Erm. Alone? These days alone. Except for Toby. Who is a cat, not a man. Sometimes Sherlock calls me in to help on a case. Otherwise, it's just me and Toby and whatever's on telly. Which is fine! I like having time to myself sometimes. I used to be engaged, and he was always around, which I liked, but it's a bit nice now to have the time on my own again.

28. If you are a supernatural being (i.e. mage, werewolf, vampire), tell the story of how you became what you are or first learned of your own abilities. If you are just a normal human, describe any influences in your past that led you to do the things you do today.

It's very silly, but one of the biggest influences in my life was Blue Peter. All the science experiments they did, and lessons in how bones or muscles worked, and visiting scientists at work, that all made me want to be a scientist. It wasn't until I was in high school that learned about pathology. Most people think pathology means 'dead people', but it's actually the study of diseases and how to treat them. I thought I wanted to be a doctor or a nurse or something, but when I was in high school Mrs Adeyemi, my science teacher, told me about Biomedical Sciences, which is what I really wanted to do, but I didn't know existed. So, she was a big influence, too.

And my dad was always very supportive of me, and really encouraging. Mum is too, of course, but I think Dad got why I wanted to work with dead people. Mum is a little freaked out by it. Most people are. He was a big influence because he didn't make me feel weird about it. He died a few years ago. I miss him.

53. In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)? Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how?

I always try to treat everyone kindly. It my profession, I deal with a lot of people who are grieving or at their very worst, so I feel it's important for me to be kind, but not patronizing or too sympathetic. Just polite, and helpful. I don't know why people would want to be mean to anyone, really. Or cruel. I don't understand cruelty.

I suppose I'm a bit shy, but I try to be friendly with everyone I meet. Sometimes, as it turns out, that's not always a good idea.

34. Do you have a criminal record of any kind?

I have a couple of ASBOs from protests in university. Disturbing the peace. And I have an official caution for helping Sherlock with something. I can't talk about it. There's a superinjunction.

40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic?

I think I'm somewhere in between. I like to be optimistic, but realistic. I think I used to be more idealistic. I see a lot of sad things, but I try to find happiness where I can.

98. What three words best describe your personality?

Oh, I hate these sorts of questions. Those are the ones you always get on dating sites. Erm, not that I've been on dating sites...

Erm...three words. Well...maybe...I think I'm warmhearted, and probably sympathetic? And I think I'm fairly clever.

23 As a child, what were your favorite activities?

I liked to play with my brothers. I used to play cricket with them. I wasn't bad, and I liked it a lot. I liked to read, as well, and play with my dolls. I was the only girl, so Mum pretty much got me all the girly things I wanted, since she was so happy to have me after two boys. I think she's a bit sad I'm not as girly as she is.

71. What is your most treasured possession?

Hmmm. Well, I'd say Toby, but he's not a possession, he's a friend. So, I suppose my ladybird necklace. I've had it since I was really little. It was a present from my dad, to cheer me up when I had my tonsils out. He always called me his ladybird, because they're lucky, and he said I was lucky. Which is silly, because I'm not. I still have it, and I wear it when I want to feel lucky or to be cheered up. It was stolen out of my locker at work once, and I was really, really upset, but it showed up again a couple of days later. Maybe I just misplaced it. But Sherlock was there the day it was stolen, and he seemed sort of pissed off, and I wonder if he got it back for me. But I think he was probably just pissed off that I was being silly, and I probably just misplaced it.

Sorry, I should have read the instructions more carefully.
I didn't specify because your Molly, no matter which verse she appears in, always seems like the perfect canon to me.

Thanks so, so much for all the answers, that's so amazing!

I'm vaguely curious about Mrs Adeyemi now, damn. There's something about the way you write that even when you only mention a character in passing, they immediately seem so real to me. Which is great.

And I have an official caution for helping Sherlock with something. I can't talk about it. There's a superinjunction.
Poor Molly. Sherlock should thank her night and day for putting up with him and helping him. :)

BEST.ANSWER.EVER! And so very Molly. Perfect characterisation.

I rather like to think that Molly's ladybird necklace looks like the one I got from my grandparents when I started school... Awww, Sherlock got it back for her. He's so sweet! And of course he didn't tell Molly about it. Awww, I love this story more than anything. Your mind is such a spectacular treasure trove! (Maybe you should write it down for all of us one day...)

Thanks again - this is brilliant! *hugs*

No worries, it's a bit more involved than most memes!

Aww! Thank you! I try to keep my AUs as canon as possible, despite their AUness.

I'm vaguely curious about Mrs Adeyemi now, damn. There's something about the way you write that even when you only mention a character in passing, they immediately seem so real to me. Which is great.

Ha! This is why I end up with so many OCs and AUs. I think way too much about even passing characters, so they end up taking on lives of their own. :-D

Your mind is such a spectacular treasure trove! (Maybe you should write it down for all of us one day...)

Thank you! It sometimes feels like a chaotic riot of characters running around, so I'm glad something entertaining pops out of the chaos. That ladybird thing is from a story I had in my head once, but didn't write down. I could perhaps see if the word fairy is interested. Once I get her on the straight and narrow. *cracks whip*

Thanks for playing! This is my favourite meme. It lets me use all my bits and pieces. :D
