Daemons and their peoples

All right, I've done my daemon portraits up now. It was good practice, and a lot of fun. You can see them below the cut. There are characters who haven't appeared in my stories yet, but for whom I have headcanon. Including Q. Just 'cause. The sizes and styles vary depending on what photos I could find of the characters and the animals they have. All character images are from Cumberbatchweb. The animal images are just google search results.

They were all sort of inspired by the portraits that inspired Phillip Pullman to create the concept of daemons. Here's one from the daemon page on wiki. I saw it when I was researching daemons back in the day.

You absolutely don't have to do anything with it, I was just messing about. I'd like to do John and Jorrun, too, but I have not yet looked into binturongs and how they might attach to their humans.

And here's Jorrun. I wasn't quite sure about her size, so I hope she's okay. Binturongs are smaller than I had originally thought, and I figured Jorrun might be smaller due to being a female of the species, and belonging to an undersized human.

AAAAH, these are amazing! Molly's Duinn in particular is soooooooo adorable. Love Q's Efimia as well. And all of them!!!

Thank you! They are very fun to do, and I learned a whole slew of new things on my graphics programme, so it was worth the effort. I'm quite fond of Efimia myself. Degu's are very cute, and they build tools to help them accomplish tasks, so I thought they would suit Q. And Japanese Flying Squirrels are basically Disney sidekicks come to life (http://tinyurl.com/pkaaars).

Mycroft with his daemon looks rather more intimidating than I'd have thought!

I especially like Lestrade's and John's.

I had a different version of Soka and Mycroft where he looked even more intimidating, but I didn't like it as much. I actually had to smudge Soka's mouth, she was smiling in the original photo, and looked entirely too friendly.
