I have yet to see the new X-men movie, and it will likely be quite awhile before I do, but in the meantime, here is an adorable interview clip of the Magnetos and Xaviers young and old doing impressions of one another:

I have to say, Fassbender's McKellan is pretty spot on.

Aww! ^_^

Now I want to write Thor and Steve learning how to microwave together or something.

Thor: It is making suspicious noises, Captain Rogers.
Steve: No, it's popcorn. Those noises are totally normal.
Tony: Hey, Technopeasants, you're going to miss the start of the movie, hurry up.
Thor: There are still 30 seconds on the microwave, Stark. It seems unwise to rush the machine.

Hahaha!!! I know it's an old comedy trope but I always LOVE watching characters trying to acclimate to present times. Or in Thor's case just Midgard.

Me too! I thought the movie did a great job of managing to make Thor realistic in Midgard, in terms of managing to suss things out fairly quickly but still being off the mark in a few places. Like clearly this box on wheels is how we get around, but perhaps we could find a horse or a cat to ride.

I think about 80% of my enjoyment of Sleepy Hollow the TV show came from Crane trying to adjust to the modern times. His rant about the price of donuts and his reaction to emoticons is still gold.

"I need a horse!"

I'd like to know Steve's favorite modern thing. May it be a device or just a modern concept. He rattles off a few things he finds helpful/nice in Cap2 but I really want to know if there was anything he looked at and was like, "That's amazing!"

I don't watch the show, but a tumblr blog I follow always have gifs of his rants, and I love them.

I think he'd be pretty impressed by modern medicine and what we can do now, especially since he was so sick as a child. How many limbs we're able to save instead of just cutting them off, and now far prosthetics have come, and we can replace heart valves with ones from pigs, and transfer organs from one person to another, and polio is completely eradicated in the United States. So many things that were a death sentence are completely treatable now. That must be pretty cool.

Or, you know, maybe he's just happy that pens are so much easier to use and don't spray ink everywhere any more.

That's really all you need. The show itself is kind of eh. Well..no, his friendship with Abby Mills is pretty epic but the stories are almost always pretty awful.

Ooh, that's a good point.

Tony: Hey, look. Ballpoint pen. See, I can click it and it comes out. And click again, in. See? In, out. You're impressed. I can see it on your face. You find this impressive.

Haha!

Steve: But how do you refill when it's empty?
Tony: It costs, like, ten cents, throw it out, get a new one. Besides, it never gets empty. You lose it before then. It goes to same place where one sock in a pair goes when you put it in the dryer.
Steve: The dryer?
Tony: *big grin* Come on, Ice Cube, we're going to the laundry room. Bring your unmentionables. This is going to be epic.

JARVIS: Sir, I believe this may be an appropriate time to remind you that you do not know how to do laundry.

Tony: Don't pay attention. I totally know.

JARVIS: You asked after the incident on May the 18th which took place between 7:42pm to 2:38am that I caution you the next time you venture into the laundry room with the intention of using either the washer or dryer.

Tony: Fine, we'll just stare at the machines. Happy?

JARVIS: And you will be too, sir.

HAHA!

Damn, I have fic ideas now. Curse you!

But now, to bed! I think we should congratulate ourselves on a truly epic geekfest today. *fist bump*

Yesssss! *fist bump*

If it makes you feel any better, all of this inspired a daemon!AU fic in me for Cap2. Now I need to re-familiarize myself with yet another fandom.

Oops! Sorry. There's a pretty good primer (http://crack-van.livejournal.com/5954411.html); it helped remind me of what I'd forgotten. Most people are pretty fluid with the HDM parts. Daemons are basically the only thing extracted from the verse, the rest is assumed to be the same as whatever verse you're fusing it with.

G'night, and happy ficcing!
