- Synesthesia for his name:
- Seaglass (http://www.pinterest.com/pin/321866704590206233/) paperweight (birthday gift from Mummy). It's on his desk in his home office. He doesn't like to keep anything personal on his work desk.
- This (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eYrT9OdmiVw) is his favourite piece of music. Entirely coincidentally, of course, it's a piece Mummy plays a lot.
- Grand-maman's (http://www.pinterest.com/pin/321866704593638011/) photo that he got from Mummy for Christmas.
- Grand-maman used to call him 'Mico' (Mee-co, she also often called him Mee-croft, if she was being very French that day). Mummy still does sometimes, but uses his pet name far less often than with the other two children. Probably because he finds it more embarrassing than the others do.
SHERLOCK
- Synesthesia for his name: SHERLOCK . Sherlock is a 'white' name, so I couldn't do the visual colour there.
- I have this picture (http://www.pinterest.com/pin/321866704589901061/) associated with childhood pirate adventures.
-During the Hiatus, Sherlock kept in contact with Q through editing an open source code on the Internet, leaving comments within the code to communicate. Everything was very, very cryptic, except for the day when MI6 was attacked by Silva. Then the comment was a pithy, if ever-so-slightly concerned question as to whether Q was in one piece.
- He has a few of his father's notebooks. He doesn't look at them, and actually very rarely ever has, but they're in a drawer somewhere in 221B. He's discovered he organizes information very similarly in his own notebooks, without being aware of it.

- Synthesia for his name: SHERRINGFORD . Sherrinford is also a white name.
- The cat who came with the flat he currently lives in is a British shorthair who looks like this (http://www.pinterest.com/pin/321866704589973227/). Her original name was Smiley, which Q suspects and hopes was a nod to the Le Carre character and not her disposition, as she's not very smiley at all. He changed her name to Fenena. But he only ever calls her The Cat.

- Demira has a bad habit of hanging semi-upside down (http://www.panoramio.com/photo/38844781) to look at things (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_tailorbird#mediaviewer/File:Common_Tailorbird_%28Orthotomus_sutorius%29_gleaning_insects_from_Kapok_%28Ceiba_pentandra%29_flower_buds_in_Kolkata_W_IMG_3802.jpg). It's only a 'bad' habit, because sometimes the things she's looking at are other people's daemons, and sometimes the places she's hanging from is their bodies. Nemi is pretty chill about Mim hanging off her nose, but Issie is a little weird about her ears and Altan is totally uptight about any part of his body. Even if he's hanging off something, too, which is a little judgmental.
- Tony's mom was a big Gene Kelly fan and he grew-up with the movies playing a lot. Consequently, he and Mim have a bit of a soft spot for him, too. This (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Aus1PA5-SyI) is their favourite number (obviously with daemons in it, but you have to draw a line somewhere and it might be assigning daemons to 1940's film stars). Tony can kinda tap dance. He was put it classes for a few weeks, but proved to be too rambunctious to concentrate properly and was asked to leave. Also, he took the stereo apart. The teacher was not pleased, despite his improving the sound quality.
- JARVIS doesn't have a daemon, obviously, but the hud interface in Mim's part of the Iron Man suits is informally called 'H.A.D.D.I.E', in honour of the real Jarvis's daemon. Mim is still working on what the acronym stands for but she likes 'Huge Awesome Data Display Interface Experiment'.
-One of Mim's favourite forms when she was unsettled was a hummingbird. She liked to fly backwards so she could talk to Tony (he didn't like to stop to talk and sometimes she needed to get in his face), and it also let her put her beak into small places to get small things or hold them in place until Tony got the screws.

Date: 2014-11-29 05:49 pm (UTC)I've never been sure if Mim can speak to JARVIS directly, as in he can hear and respond to her voice. It seems like it would be taboo. So I thought Mim communicates via some sort of movement detection, and the H.A.D.D.I.E interface just basically allows her to see what's up while she's in the suit, and maybe makes it less weird for her to interact with it. Because J.A.R.V.I.S is sort of a person, and it's weird to interact with a person who isn't Tony.
