Date: 2015-04-29 11:04 pm (UTC)Hee! It comes out of the fact that I didn't feel the colours and sounds of Verissima worked very well for Cal, but I could hear him calling her 'Sima' and 'Sim'. I had another name, Aletheya, which I felt suited the animal and colours better, but I didn't like the 'Cal and Al' feeling to it.
Sometimes synesthesia makes things really complicated.
This is such a good visual for what Cal does and how it unnerves people.
Tim Roth's tendency to act on angle as Cal, sloping to one side with his head, immediately made me think of an owl. There are a shed-load of owl species out there, though, so I took awhile to find one I liked.
