c) Bob is awesome because, despite being unable to physically interact with the world around him, he gets so much done. He is at least partially responsible for every triumph Harry has in his work through his knowledge and guidance, which is pretty remarkable considering he has been dead for hundreds of years.

Mal
e)
1. Zoe - he loves her, yes, but as a friend. She belongs to Wash (as much as Zoe can belong to anyone) and even before then, she would have kicked his ass if he tried anything.

2. Kaylee - because, Kaylee is Kaylee. She's sweet and cute and innocent and he doesn't think of her as any more than a little sister. And if even he was in love with her, I don't think he would do anything about it for fear of 'breaking' her. He's a mean old man and she's a perky little munchkin.

3. Inara - *hopes nobody kills me*. I don't doubt there's a total attraction there but I would say it is more the fact that he can't be with her that he finds appealing. I imagine if they did actually get together, he could certainly fall in real love with her, but at the moment it's more the fact that she ignores him and he's jealous that he's one of the few men she won't consider.

4. Jayne - Aside from the fact that I don't think either of them swing that way, it's hard to be in love with someone who would kill you in your sleep for the right amount of money. What's that Paul Gross song? "Don't tell me you love me with that gun in your hand?" I don't know if there are many Mal/Jayne slashers out there, but it's a fandom so there probably are. I'd just like to put forth that it would be a very unhealthy relationship. ;-)

5. Umm...I don't have a fifth? How about someone Mal is in love with? Which would be Serenity. Mal is totally in love with her. As damaged as he is, I don't know if Mal would really let himself fall in love with anyone.

lol. I'm not against Mal/Inara. It's there and I see it. I just don't see it working out without both of them putting a lot of work into it. I don't think Mal could settle for being with Inara while she was still working and I'm not sure if Inara would be willing to give her up her job for him, or if he would let her. They suffer from a serious lack of communication. :-)

totally agree with all 5 of those. Sorry, I never saw the Mal/Inara thing. They're friends. I think he sort of loves Kaylee, but in a big brother protective way. Zoe would have *totally* kicked his ass

Mal/Inara are sort of meh for me, I'll take it either way. I think it's because Mal is my favourite character, possibly ever, and I'm like 'girl, this awesome guy is totally in to you, just go with it and stop being a frigid bitch'.

I agree that Mal loves Kaylee in a big brother way. I love that scene in the pilot when he's talking to her after she's been shot.

Bob has never:
- 'rode along' with Harry. Not even when he asked really nicely.
- directly caused anyone's death
- been forgiven by Mab for that thing he did (faerie's can hold serious grudges)
- been able to teach Harry what constitutes a good romance novel
- convinced Mister to steal porn while out on their missions together

Oh, me too. Mister and Mouse are the best. My friend Ama pointed out that Mister provides a sense of affection and family that Bob does in the TV show. Someone who will tell Harry's he's an okay guy when he's had a bad day. She hasn't gotten to the books with Mouse in them yet, but I think he's even more of a comfort. He's the sort of dog that wouldn't let anything happen to Harry or anyone Harry cares about if he could help it. I love Mouse, especially puppy!Mouse. :-)

Oooh, I like that idea, yeah, Mister is the family Harry craves- or at least the thing that'll trip him on his way out the door. Puppy mouse is adorable, but grown up and powerful? He can actually protect Harry, which is great

1 - Does not fully understand why he had to come to Chicago, nor why they are still there, but Fraser seemed to want to go and he'd follow him anywhere.

2 - If he had to pick a female for Fraser out of the women who are always trying to mate with him, he'd choose Elaine. She's soft-spoken (he thinks), pets him and gives him food. Fraser hasn't gotten the hints, despite Dief's best efforts.

3 - The thing Dief misses the most about the Territories is pulling the sled. He likes bounding through the snow and being the leader of the pack.
