Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?
Um…like, a lot more. Like…over 70k more than last year. I was not expecting that at all. I just got really wordy this year. A lot of my fics clocked at least 7k, and many of them had multiple parts. Curse you, MCU!
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2015?
While I did not anticipate the sheer joy Agent Carter would bring me, I’d say the pairing of Angie Martinelli and James Bond was the most unexpected thing that cropped up this year. Followed closely by the insane parentfic/crossover/occasionally daemon AU
joonscribble and I have concocted together. Looking back, those crossover memes I did in May were nothing but trouble. Glorious trouble.
What's your favorite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest?
It’s funny, because the story I’m actually the most proud of is The Virtues of Being Useful, which got no comments at all. It’s probably going to be super AU once Agent Carter Season Two airs, considering it heavily involves Ana, who now actually exists, and it’s almost all head canon of the highest order, but I really enjoyed the research, and I’m happy with the character stuff I wrote for it.
My favourite story, though, is Like Father, Like Son. It just turned out exactly how I wanted it, and I feel like it’s a good length, and tells what it needs to in a pretty good way.
What's your least favorite story of the year, regardless of the reviews it got (or didn't get)?
I’m always happy to get anything written and posted, but I think there were a couple of stories that suffered from too much wordiness. I especially find daemon stories hard to do, because they require an extra set of dialogue that wouldn’t be there in other stories. They tend to run long.
Did you take any writing risks this year? (See above for unexpected pairings, etc.) What did you learn from them?
Let’s face it, at this point, there’s nothing weirder I could come up with than I haven’t already, and the fact that you guys stick around and read it is just a joy to me. I love you all so much!
Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year?
Nope! Losing my stories was pretty sucky, and I’m hoping to get a few of them rewritten, but at the same time, it’s kind of refreshing to start over again. Like a starting a new notebook. My only immediate goal is to try to get my Peggy and Howard Have War Adventures With the Howling Commandos story done. I lost the original, but I’ve got half of it written again. I did a lot of very enjoyable research for it, and while I keep waffling between ‘this works’ and ‘this makes no sense, I am a terrible writer who writes non-sensical stories, OMG…no, I think that works, actually’, I’m having a lot of fun with it.

Date: 2015-12-31 05:54 pm (UTC)—and that's how I realized that I missed an ENTIRE FOUR-PART STORY YOU WROTE EARLIER THIS YEAR. May was very busy, if I recall correctly. I don't recall May well at all, to be honest.
You are likely to get comments on that story at some point in the new year.
I wonder what else I've missed?
I love your Agent Carter stories. I'm not a Bond fan, but Angie and Bond are a lot of fun together.

Oh, I'm sorry! I've had months like that. Years, even. :-D It was a long story, and I was mostly just happy to have written something that long and coherent again. It was just something to be proud of. Comments are lovely, and I always appreciate that you take the time to leave them, but I hope no one ever feels obliged!

Bond is something I casually enjoy more than actively like, but the pairing was so random and plausible that I had a lot of fun playing around with it. I have a whole little world in my head for them now. :-D
Thanks so much for reading and commenting this year. I really, really appreciate it. I hope you have a great year!

NO REGRETS.

Date: 2016-01-05 03:40 am (UTC)For some reason, I find this incredible sweet. ^_^
I understand people have lives, so no worries. I don't want anyone to ever feel obligated to read or comment, I'm just happy if they do. :-D
NO REGRETS.
SOME REGRETS BUT NOT ENOUGH TO STOP!
Speaking of which, I had a very bad migraine over the weekend, and in my state of lying in bed, being weird, my brain decided Peggy Carter and Archie Goodwin of Nero Wolfe fame needed to meet, so guess what I spent today writing?
No power on Earth can stop my crossovers.
