I imagine most of you have probably seen this already, but it's always best to spread the love in case someone hasn't.
In response to the writer's strike, Joss Whedon is trying out a new method of distributing work without Hollywood. So, for this week only, Dr. Horrible's Sing A-Long Blog will be online for your viewing pleasure. The first act came out on the 15th, the second act came out today and the third act will be out on Saturday. You can also download them from iTunes, I believe. The whole thing will be taken down after midnight on Sunday, possibly to be made available to download for a small fee or to be put on DVD at a later date.
Plot description, from the myspace page:
It's a musical, too. And it's very funny. Go forth and watch!

Plot description, from the myspace page:
The story of a low-rent super-villain, the hero who keeps beating him up, and the cute girl from the laundromat he’s too shy to talk to. Featuring Neil Patrick Harris as Dr. Horrible, Nathan Fillion as Captain Hammer, Felicia Day as Penny and a cast of dozens.
It's a musical, too. And it's very funny. Go forth and watch!

Date: 2008-07-18 09:56 am (UTC)For me, it's Joss Whedon + Superheroes + Nathan Fillion + Singing. When I was telling Ama about it, she said 'Dear Taylor, we've decided to make a movie just for you'. It's all my favourite things.
It's my kind of humour, too. A bit silly, a bit meta and lots of quick dialogue and delivery. I also like stories that subvert a genre (in this case, having the villain as the hero). It's definitely not Firefly, or even Buffy. It's not the Best Thing Ever. But I think it's a good idea and it's different and I think people are excited about it because it's not going to be around for long. There's always something exciting about a 'one time only' event.
