Meme Revival

I was looking back through my journal the other day, as I am wont to do, and remembered how fun this meme was, so I thought I'd bring it back.
Character Questions Meme
1. Go here to generate 10 random numbers between 1 and 100. DO THIS FIRST.
2. Choose a character that I write or have written, be it a canon person (Jack), an OC (Dr. Forrester) or whatever. Feel free to pick a character that was used last time, as the questions will most likely be different this time around.
3. Comment with the character and the numbers, and then I will answer the corresponding questions from here.
If you choose Mal or Fay or Graylin (or anyone of a minor age), any questions inappropriate to ask a child will be answered as though they were adults. You can choose a few characters if you so choose. I love these sorts of things, so any character, no matter how small, is really fun to do. :D

Date: 2008-10-16 04:21 am (UTC)54. Who is the most important person in your life, and why?
My wife, Samara (mention The Ring and she will kill you dead). She is the person whom I see every day (hopefully) and who looks after me and whom I love. In strictly non-romantic terms, she is the most interesting person I know and the first person to whom I want to tell news.
8. To which social class do you belong?
The Forrester line of which I am product has had an unfortunate habit of having the second sons of second sons as patriarchs. As a consequence, though my distant ancestors were elite, my parents' generation were comfortably middle class, nearing upper middle class. We hardly had tea with any dukes, but there was enough money to get myself and my brother through medical school, with a little saving and many nights waiting tables on my part.
64. If you died or went missing, who would miss you?
Good Lord, I hope a good many people! Samara, certainly, and my parents. My brother and his family as well. What a terrible question to be asked.
74. What, if anything, do you like to read?
Murder mysteries. Preferably from the 1930's and 40's. I enjoy trying to solve the puzzle and there is something quite glamorous about leggy dames swaggering into an office, reeking of sex and danger. I also like tabloids when I'm at work. They give my mind a rest and warn me of impending attacks by half-man half-bat armies.
67. Do you tend to take on leadership roles in social situations?
It would depend on the situation, but I would say I generally do. If I had a choice, I'd prefer to be at home, but if I'm out and about, I do tend to lead conversations. I am hardly the life of a party, however.
7. Write a full physical description of yourself. You might want to consider factors such as: height, weight, race, hair and eye color, style of dress, and any tattoos, scars, or distinguishing marks.
6'2", brown hair which curls when I need a haircut, eyes which I would describe as swamp sludge coloured but my wife would call 'hazel green', usually never clean-shaven despite my best efforts and often dressed in scrubs which, as I have a complete inability to match colours, probably is for the best. A bet undertaken when I was extremely drunk has earned me a Celtic knot tattoo between my shoulder blades, which I am nonetheless rather fond of. I have a scar on my lower right flank from having my appendix removed and another on the back of my right shoulder from having fallen out of a tree and breaking my collar bone as a child.
(Author's Note: Forrester has always looked like Clive Owen in my mind)
69. Do you care what others think of you?
I care what people think about my abilities, but not really what they think about my manners or personality. It would upset me more if you thought I was a bad doctor than if you thought I was an obnoxious git.
56. Who are your friends? Do you have a best friend? Describe these people.
I have a group of friends from medical school who are now spread across the globe, but who exchange e-mails with me regularly. All my childhood friends remain in England and I only see them when I return for visits. In Chicago, my best friend is Jamie Hennessey, who lived next door to me when I first came to America. He is an excellent person to get a drink with and would have your back in any bar fight. He was my Best Man.
50. Do you have any biases or prejudices?
I think American beer is rubbish, American football is silly and Manchester United is better than Liverpool. Other than that, no.
43. What are your political views?
I suppose I am quite liberal, politically speaking. I don't see any reason why same sex couples shouldn't be allowed to marry, I think women have the right to abortions, so long as it isn't used as a birth control method and teenagers need more sex ed than 'don't have sex'.
Eta: The bit about the tattoo, which was excluded because I couldn't decide what/where and then when I woke up this morning...I could. Which is why you should never post anything without sleeping first.

Date: 2008-10-16 10:13 am (UTC)89. Are you generally organized or messy?
I don't think I'm organi-zised. Gramma always says our house is very messy, but Daddy says s'not that bad. I don't get why you got to put your crayons away if you're going to use them again later.
4. Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like?
Yep, I got Mal. He's my brother and he's little. It was very exciting when he was born, but he was very noisy for awhile. Now he's not so noisy and he can talk a little and stuff. He looks like Daddy in his hair and eyes. I like it when he laughs.
21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
I like everybody! My family is very nice. I like Mal okay and I love Daddy and Bob and Murphy. I love Mal too, I guess. Bob is grumpy sometimes, but he's not mean or anything and he's good at teaching stuff. Sometimes I fight with Daddy, but he's hard to fight with because he doesn't get mad! It's very annoying.
What is your idea of good entertainment (consider music, movies, art, etc.)?
I like it when Daddy or Bob or Murphy or Gramma reads to me. Daddy's the best - he does all the voices. I like to color, too.
In general, how do you treat others (politely, rudely, by keeping them at a distance, etc.)? Does your treatment of them change depending on how well you know them, and if so, how?
Daddy and Gramma say you got to be nice to people, so I try. At my kindergarten, there are some people I don't like because they're mean, so I'm not as nice to them. I like to help people and I try to talk to people who are on their own, so they don't feel lonely.
23. As a child, what were your favorite activities?
I like to color lots, and play dress-up. I like to climb on the monkey bars at school and play with the parachute in gym class. I like to play in the snow, too, and I like it when Murphy comes to play.
5. Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people.
I live at my house, with Daddy, Mal and Bob. My house is not very big, but big enough and I have my own room. Bob lives in the lab and Mal has his own room and Daddy does too. We have a backyard that's not very big either. Daddy is a wizard, he helps people and Mal is a baby and Bob is a ghost.
10 . Are you right- or left-handed?
Right-handed, like Mommy. Daddy is left-handed.
91. Do you like yourself?
Yes.
79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you?
I don't like it when people are mean to other people and when people say I'm a liar 'cause my Daddy's a wizard. He IS a wizard, but people don't believe me.

77. How do you spend a typical Saturday night?
Most likely helping Harry with one of his hare-brained schemes and/or watching the children while he hatches one of his hare-brained schemes.
97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death?
As I am already dead, I think the point is moot. It is more what I would NOT wish to be remembered by.
59. What do you look for in a potential lover?
Again, a moot point, but were I corporeal, I would look for intelligence, wit, and nice legs.
20. While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them.
If you can count the time after my death 'growing up', I was quite impressed by my first owner. He was an intelligent man, with a set of morals I have rarely seen in other owners and a very flashy dresser. In my actual childhood, I looked up to my brother and the man whom I apprenticed for my wizarding education.
4. Do you have any siblings? What are/were they like?
I had an elder brother, who, while not as strong in magic as myself, was extremely bright and a far better student than I. From what I gather, he lived a good life with a good family. I never saw him again after my imprisonment. I had a younger sister, as well, who died shortly after she was born.
48. What do you believe makes a successful life?
I used to thing it was doing something that reaches beyond the knowledge or expectations of others and being unafraid of the consequences. It is now my belief that it is a far better life to have humbler expectations and live long enough to reap the rewards of one's achievements.
21. While growing up, how did you get along with the other members of your family?
My father died suddenly when I was a boy, not long after my sister, and, twice struck, my mother was never much herself again. I was as close to her as she would allow us to get. My uncle came to stay with us and he and I were often at odds over small things, but close in others. My brother and I were also close, until he left home to apprentice. We did not have as much contact after that and grew apart.
35. When was the time you were the most frightened?
When Winnifred was dying.
32. What is your greatest regret?
I should think that would be obvious.
63. Do you trust anyone to protect you? Who, and why?
I trust Harry. He has formed an unnatural attachment to me, for whatever reason, and I've no doubt he would do foolish things to keep me 'safe'. He would do foolish things to keep anyone safe. I expect the children would do similar, as they are being raised to be just as foolish as him.

Date: 2008-10-16 10:39 am (UTC)20. While growing up, did you have any role models? If so, describe them.
I did not 'grow-up' so much as 'was programmed'. As such, the only role model I have is Mr. Stark.
79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you?
I live with Tony Stark. Even if I could feel shock, I doubt I would after this many years with him.
18. Did you enjoy school?
I enjoy receiving new functions and capabilities and having errors in my programming corrected, which is as close to school as I have come.
41. What is your greatest fear?
I suspect it would be being deprogrammed or rendered obsolete, were I capable of fear. I would also be upset were I to fail in helping Mr. Stark or Miss Potts if they needed me.
66. Do you tend to argue with people, or avoid conflict?
I am programmed to be acquiescent to Mr. Stark, but also to attempt to dissuade him from more reckless plans or acts. I am expected to give my opinion and do so.
19. Where did you learn most of your skills and other abilities?
Mr. Stark programmed them into me and I continue to learn by scanning media sources. Miss Potts has also taught me a few things, such as when to call her to rescue Mr. Stark and where to find sales on shoes, though the latter is not useful to me.
5. Where do you live now, and with whom? Describe the place and the person/people.
I live in Mr. Stark's manor in Malibu. I understand it is rather spacious and spectacular. I live with Mr. Stark - 5'9", Caucasian, brown hair and brown eyes. Miss Potts is there frequently. She is 5'9 1/2", Caucasian, has red hair and blue eyes. Lt. Col. James Rhodes is also a frequent visitor. He is 6'0 1/2", African-American, has brown hair and brown eyes. I also sometimes reside in Mr. Stark's Iron Man suit.
97. What is the one thing for which you would most like to be remembered after your death?
I suppose I should like to have been some use to Mr. Stark and Miss Potts.
24. As a child, what kinds of personality traits did you display?
I was never a child, but Mr. Stark frequently informs me I am a 'sarcastic bastard'. I believe he finds this a good quality.
10. Are you right- or left-handed?
I am omni-handed.

79. What, if anything, shocks or offends you?
I've been to the end of the galaxy and back, done and seen everything humanly (or humanoidly) possible. Nothing shocks me.
98. What three words best describe your personality?
Charming, dashing and heroic. Also possibly arrogant. *wink*
96. If you knew you were going to die in 24 hours, name three things you would do in the time you had left.
At the moment, that's sort of not an issue, but if I really was really, truly, for good going to die? Have sex, get drunk and have sex.
40. Are you basically optimistic or pessimistic?
I'm optimistic that things are gonna go to hell, but that we're all going to make it through to see another day.
60. How close are you to your family?
Don't have any blood relatives anymore. But Torchwood's my family and I'm close to them. We fight, we yell, and we kiss and make up and would die for each other in a second. That's what a family is, right?
56. Who are your friends? Do you have a best friend? Describe these people.
Torchwood are my friends. Ianto's efficient and sarcastic and far more strong than he thinks. Gwen's passionate and a fighter. Tosh is sweet and brilliant. Owen's an ass, but a good doctor. There's also Martha Jones, Rose Tyler and the Doctor. I don't know if I have a best friend and I don't think I need one. What I have is more than I deserve.
30. Who has had the most influence on you?
The Doctor. For better or worse, he's the reason I'm here. I think for better.
29. What do you consider the most important event of your life so far?
Losing Gray or dying on Sattelite Five.
83. What are your pet peeves?
Bad coffee and little 21st century 'categories'.
84. Describe the routine of a normal day for you. How do you feel when this routine is disrupted?
Get dressed, drink Ianto's coffee, pow-wow with the crew, drink Ianto's coffee, wait for hell to break loose, fix said hell, drink Ianto's coffee, do paperwork about said fixing, going to bed, hopefully with Ianto. The only way to throw me off my game is denying me Ianto's coffee.

Aw, yeah, I think so. And hee, I adore #83 and 84.
I think for better.
*pets him* I'm glad.
